Isnt this time of year wonderful! I have even been enjoying the snow, and for those of you who really know me....know that I usually hate the stuff. It has been beautiful and it just isnt Christmas with out it!
Since Ive stopped working we have had some time to do some fun family activities. My sister Julie came into town from Maryland and came and stayed with us with her son Christian. Rowan just loves Christian to death and they have played until they have collapsed. He has missed naps and has gone to bed WAY late but who cares right? We will get back on schedule after the holidays.
Our first fun activity was going to the bishops store house. Usually I dont give and tell, but this one I have to share. Last week I took the kids to Target to pick out some presents to give to the Bishops Store House. I was a little afraid of how this would all work out but told Rowan to pick some toys out that some other little children would like. I explained to him that these would not be his, but that they would go to kids who didnt have much this Christmas. He was very sweet about the whole thing and even asked if he could go drop off the toys and go play with the kids. Later that week, we went with Loren,my sister and Christian to go drop them off. Again I was afraid he might cry and want to keep the toys but he was SO good. He carried his presents inside and put them in a big box. He asked where the kids were and wanted to give the presents to them in person. The man explained that they put all the toys in a room and that the parents come and pick out what they think there kids would need and like. Rowan loved it there and seemed to understand it very well. I was so proud of him! I hope that we taught him a good leason this year and that we will always take the time to do these things with our kids. Good job Rowan....I think you are going to turn into a wonderful young man.

Our next little adventure was frosting cookies with Grammie and Grampy. This has been a tradition since I was little and I just love doing it with my kids now. My Moms cookies are THE BEST. They are so soft and scrumptious. Better than any Grannie B's. I was really good and only had a bite. That was tough for me. To tell you the truth...I am dreading the holidays because of all the crap! I am also worried about our vacation and what we will be eating in Mexico. I am great when I am at home but its so hard at times to eat good healthy food when there isnt much of an option. Why does everything revolve around food anyway? UUGh! Note to self.....you will be Ok....prepare with healthy snacks and win the battle of the bulge!
Rowans cookie was more of an ant hill. He went a little loco on the sprinkles

This week will continue with fun activities. Tuesday, Christian will get baptised and then Wenesday is Christmas eve. Off to the Andersons for a tradional Christmas Eve night with lots of CRAP:) to eat and a family program. Christmas Day we will head out to the Nielsens to eat more CRAP and enjoy another family program AND then Friday...ADIOS! Viva Mexico! I will be thinking of you all on the nice warm beaches of Puerto Pinasco:)
